Ajinomoto Foods North America — a $1B subsidiary of Ajinomoto Co. Japan and producer of brands like Jose Ole and Ling Ling — runs Oracle JD Edwards as the backbone of operations across nine U.S. factories. But the integration architecture around it was a liability. Point-to-point connections built on flat files had no data monitoring or validation, creating a constant cycle of errors and manual reprocessing that frustrated both maintenance and finance teams.
There was no standard way to connect business systems, and every new project added more fragility. The hardest case was integrating JD Edwards with Maintenance Connection for automated asset management — real-time data flow, bidirectional sync, and proper error handling that the existing approach simply couldn't deliver.
Specifically, Ajinomoto needed to:
Ajinomoto selected Magic Software for its deep JD Edwards expertise and the combined strength of Magic xpi and the Oracle JD Edwards Orchestrator. Rather than layering another script on a fragile setup, Magic's team built a real-time API integration between JD Edwards and Maintenance Connection with validation embedded directly in the workflow — catching errors before they reach the ERP and eliminating the downstream cleanup that had been eating staff time.
